Ogier Law Firm expands its international footprint with the opening of a new representative office in Beijing dedicated to assisting Chinese clients, becoming the first offshore law firm in the Chinese capital.

The Beijing office opens just five months after Ogier Global’s launch in Singapore and further strengthens Ogier’s established presence in Asia’s major financial centers, with offices also operating in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo.

Davy Guan has been appointed Business Development Manager for Beijing. With over 15 years of experience in the professional services industry, Guan will oversee the business development of the firm’s legal and corporate administration services, focusing on the North China market.

“As the country’s political center, center of international exchange and technological innovation, Beijing is home to most of the headquarters, unicorns and financial institutions of China’s largest state-owned companies – and the city is home to more Fortune Global 500 than any other in the world,” said Edward Mackereth, Global Managing Partner of Ogier. “Having a presence in Beijing demonstrates our investment in service and accessibility to clients and intermediaries in their time zone.”

Mackereth adds, “Guan brings a wealth of experience and talent to our business development team in mainland China, where we have had a presence in Shanghai for ten years. His skills will give us greater coverage in the field and a better understanding of the region.
