National Company Law Tribunal Bar Association, congratulations program, book launch
The National Company Law Tribunal Bar Association (NCLTBA) held a congratulatory program on Friday 25.03.2022 for Judge Ashok Bhushan, President, NCLAT, and Judge Ramalingam Sudhakar, Chairman, NCLT along with other newly appointed Judicial and Technical members of NCLT at India International Center, New Delhi. The program was also marked by the launch of the book “A Practical Guide to the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016” written by Dr. Ashok Kumar Mishra, Technical Member, NCLAT. Lead UK solicitor Choudhary, chairman of the NCLTBA, said the scheme was due to take place in November 2021 but was not happening due to the Covid-19 pandemic and eventually saw the light of day as the pandemic recedes. He further congratulated all the newly appointed members of the NCLT.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Ashok Bhushan recalled his 22-year journey as a lawyer and said it was always nice to be among the members of the bar and to exchange ideas with them. Justice Bhushan further highlighted the fact that today NCLAT and NCLT have gained great importance as these courts have a direct bearing on the economic growth of the country.
Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar, who was appointed President of the NCLT on 01.11.2022, began his speech by referring to the principles of Japanese IKIGAI practice and said that previously the practice area of corporate litigation was small, but today, he has made giant strides after the induction. of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.
Dr AK Mishra, speaking at the launch of his book, said he wrote with the practicalities of IBC in mind and also thanked members of the bench and bar for their kind help in the making of the book. He further informed that the book will soon be available in the market and online platforms.
The commendation ceremony was attended by many senior lawyers and active members of the NCLT Bar Association. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Senior Counsel P Nagesh, Senior Vice President, NCLTBA.
