Maryland State Bar Association to Host Maryland Governors Forums in June
The MSBA hosts Governors’ Forums to provide policy perspective and engagement to the legal profession and the public
BALTIMORE, MD., May 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) organizes non-partisan meetings Maryland Governors Forums in June, giving voters and colleagues in the legal profession the opportunity to hear the candidates’ positions on the most pressing issues facing the state and the legal profession. The MSBA has invited all Republican and Democratic gubernatorial candidates to participate in these forums. The MSBA does not endorse or rank political candidates.
The Democratic Forum will take place at 7:30 p.m. on June 1 in OceanCity as part of MSBA Legal Summitanimated by Baltimore Banner journalist, Pamela Woodand Dick Uliano, OMCP Washington DC journalist. The Republican Forum will follow June 27, 2022to University of Maryland (Baltimore County).

June 1, 2022: Democratic Forums (in person and virtual)
Democratic gubernatorial candidates will join us in person at 7:30 p.m. on June 1, 2022to OceanCity Convention Center Theater (4001 coastal road, Ocean City, MD 21842) for the MSBA Legal Summit. The MSBA welcomes the following applicants: Baker Rushern, Jon Baron, Doug Gansler, John King, Wes Moore, Tom Perezand Jerome Segal. The Maryland State Bar Association invites all MSBA members and local legal professionals to the event. Although you do not have to register to attend the forums, we encourage you to register and join us for our first networking and education gathering:

June 27, 2022: Republican Forums (in person and virtual)
All Republican gubernatorial candidates are invited to an in-person forum at University of Maryland (Baltimore County). Details to follow.
Discussions and forums will be recorded and made available to members and the public upon request at https://www.msba.org/connect-with-the-candidates/making them accessible to all.

NOTE: MSBA sought to host a Republican forum at the Legal Summit, but lack of responses or late responses from candidates resulted in the decision to hold a recorded forum to broadcast during the conference on May 31st. Several candidates then withdrew without notice to MSBA. The MSBA will seek to host an in-person forum for all Republican candidates in late June. All are welcome.
