Lake County Bar Association Releases Evaluations of First Sub-Judicial Circuit Candidates

The Lake County Bar Association has just completed its review and evaluation of candidates for the new First Judicial Sub-Circuit race for Circuit Judge in Lake County, IL. The First Judicial Sub-Circuit includes Round Lake, Round Lake Heights, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Park, Ingleside and sections of Grayslake, Haynesville and Wauconda. It is located in the township of Avon.

Through the Judges Selection and Retention Committee, the LCBA evaluates candidates by its 16-member committee appointed for staggered three-year terms. The committee is comprised of seasoned attorneys with a wide range of backgrounds and areas of practice throughout Lake County, IL. The Committee is

non-partisan and its sole purpose is to ensure that the best candidates are elected and retained for judicial office. The Committee submitted a questionnaire to all the candidates, with a request for an interview and a meeting. Following its recent meetings, the Committee made the following observations:

For the First Judicial Sub-Circuit of Lake County, Illinois:

• Lawyer Rod Drobinski: highly qualified.

• Attorney Chris Ditton: Unqualified.
