Disaster legal assistance to the public, free
The Malaysian Bar Association expresses its deepest condolences to those affected by the floods that occurred last week. We understand that these are very trying and difficult times and that the public may have many legal questions about their rights arising from the effects of the flood. Recognizing this need, the Malaysian Bar Association, through its National Legal Aid Committee and with the assistance of the courts, will provide disaster legal assistance to the public.
Members of the bar at our bar council legal aid centers and counters set up in some courts will provide legal advice and assistance to those affected by the floods. The service will be free and open to all Malaysians and non-Malaysians; a means test is not required. We will help everyone affected and in need.
The Disaster Legal Assistance program will be available for an initial two-week period, starting today until January 10, 2022, and its hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 2 p.m. 4:30 p.m. Members of the public may enter at any of the following locations or call the respective contact numbers for more information:

To support this vital initiative, the Malaysian Bar Association is urging members, including those who specialize or have relevant experience in insurance, personal injury and probate matters, as well as students in practice, to volunteer their time and their expertise for the disaster legal assistance program. Please contact your respective state legal aid center for more information and opportunities for assistance.
The Malaysian Bar stands in solidarity with all those affected by the floods, and we are committed to providing support and assistance to help those in need rebuild their lives after this tragedy.
